Meet Amber, our Program and Events Director.

Foster Hope has been for me what the saying is "it takes a village." As a biological, adoptive and foster parent I have leaned greatly on the supports I have found through Foster Hope, and I now hope to be able to provide that for others who are going through the same trials and triumphs that this journey of foster care brings! I’ve known I wanted to be a foster parent since the time I was in high school, and when I met my husband that was one of the first big talks we had, "This is something I really want to do so is that something you can get on board with?" Thankfully he is just like me in the, let's say yes department!

We have been so blessed with our wonderful daughter, son and each of the children we have been able to love and support that have left a permanent stamp in our hearts over the last four years.  In my role, I will be responsible for designing and overseeing impactful programs, organizing events that bring our community together, and ensuring that Foster Hope New York remains a vital resource for families across New York. Whether it’s planning workshops, creating opportunities for foster families to connect, or launching new initiatives, I am looking forward to serving Onondaga County in meaningful ways.

A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

Amber has an incredible vision for the future of Foster Hope. She is brimming with creative ideas to provide additional resources and training for foster and kinship families in our area. I can’t wait to see her ideas come to life, knowing they will have such a meaningful impact on our community.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Amber for several years and have watched her pour her heart and soul into every child that becomes part of her family—whether for a short time or forever. She is a tireless advocate for each little heart, and her compassion is truly inspiring.

Amber often brings her littles to the office, which has been both a joy and, occasionally, a bit of delightful chaos! Shay, her energetic three-year-old son, was recently adopted from foster care. He’s full of smiles, boundless energy, and just a touch of mischief. Aisla, her seven-year-old biological daughter, is not only her spitting image but also shares her compassionate heart. Aisla has a remarkable sense of empathy for children in foster care and loves being part of everything we do at Foster Hope NY. Seeing Amber’s family involved in this work is such a gift, and I’m so grateful for their presence in our community.
